Mella McAuley makes her stunningly delicious butter fudge, using local
Bandon butter. Mella began making fudge for a local sweet shop in
Bantry when she was in school. Fifteen years later, having worked in a
variety of different spheres (including a couple of spells in Sheridans
Cheesemongers!), she decided to set up her own business making fudge.
Initially she started a stall in Bantry’s Friday Market, and sold to local delis.
Gradually her kitchen enterprise grew in scale and now she works from
her own kitchen unit in Lisavaird Co-op, outside Clonakilty, West Cork..
Cottage Pie ( meal for 1) made using Coolanowle Organic Minced Beef. Exceptionally flavoursome and tasty. Comfort food at its best. Very handy for a quick dinner when you don’t feel like cooking. Suitable for freezing if required.
